This year, I’ve joined 19 other fantastic photographers to do a year long journey–the Fifty Two on Friday. You can see last week’s post here.
This week, the theme is whimsical-which means spontaneously fanciful or playful. I had the hardest time thinking of something to photograph this week, but then I remembered our trip to San Diego last week, and the shows at Sea World. Back in the days, before that Orca attacked the trainer, the trainers at Sea World would get in the water and ride the backs of the dolphins, and do tricks. It was the best part of the park! I was disappointed this year, though, to find out they do not do that anymore. The trainers did a few things with the dolphins, but didn’t get in the water with the Orcas at all. I was so sad. Instead, its like watching Cirque du Soleil, water style. How much more whimsical can you get with a woman dressed as a giant macaw, flying on a wire, men in spandex with weird feathers, and it all revolving around some silly story involving a girl at a window and horrible music and dolphins jumping around? I didn’t get it.
