There is no way I can narrow my favorite newborns into one post, so I’m just going to do two. I could easily choose 3 favorites from all 80+ sessions this year but that would just take too long. So here are a few of my very favorites through the year…
Again, it was so very hard to narrow down my favorite 11 maternity photos from 2011. I always love the outdoor photos, and the silhouettes are my very favorite. Thank you all you beautiful moms for choosing me to document the happiest (you may not think that at the time) days of your life. I know when I was pregnant with both of my babies, I was just so excited to meet the new baby and to be COMFY again, that I didn’t take the time to just stop and enjoy the moment like I should have. These wonderful bellies should remind you to remember that this is a fleeting moment, and its a magical time, so enjoy it while it lasts.
I’m so behind on blogging, that I’m pretty sure none of these photos have been on this website before–but I loved every single one of them. Many are families that I have had the pleasure of working with several times, and there is nothing that makes my heart sing more than watching them grow. I love their family dynamics and the true love that I get to witness when we make time to play for the photos–these are always my favorite. I love that perfectly posed, everyone smiling shot, but when you catch a glimpse of love and emotion, and true laughter from the children–that’s where the magic is. Here are my favorite family photos of 2011.
1. This precious family just added a baby girl — and I am fortunate enough to get to photograph her tomorrow.
Again, I couldn’t possibly narrow it down to 11–but I got as close as I could. My favorite baby shots of 2011 (13 of them).
1. Lathan–can he be any cuter?
2. My nephew Kaleb
3. Jackson–I LOVE when babies show off their brand new little teeth!
4. Grayson–his expression is so sweet.
5. Brant, attacking that smash cake
6. Jessa, attacking her smash cake
11. Chase Anna
13. Ella Grace
2011 was one of the best years of my life. My schedule has stayed very full of wonderful families, my son started school and is doing an outstanding job, my baby girl was born and is gorgeous and healthy, and life couldn’t be better. I have narrowed my favorite photos of 2011–it originally started as a “Top 11 of 2011″ but most (all) categories ended up with more. I tried to keep it as close to 11 as possible.
First up, my Top 13 favorites of Aidan this year! My little boy has grown up so much this year. He’s incredibly smart, charismatic, kind, and the best big brother anyone could ask for. He’s yet to show even a hint of jealousy about having a baby sister. He can put together advanced lego sets completely alone (even those that are for ages 7 and up). He loves Rollercoaster Tycoon computer game and rarely gives me computer time myself. He uses big words, correctly. He says “Hmm, that’s ‘intresting’ ” and makes me giggle. He thinks I feed Ella parmesan cheese in a bowl because he can’t understand why her ‘cereal’ doesn’t look like his cereal. If a food is hot, it “bout electrocuted me”. He makes me laugh, and he makes me want to be a better person. I love this boy more every day. He is the reason I wanted to become a photographer–to document his life in photos. People joke with me that I must take a photo of day of him and I don’t–but I do make sure that I have plenty of him. He’s my favorite model, and I think he’s pretty darn cute myself.
