Fifty Two on Friday : Bright Colors | Fayetteville NC Children Family Baby Photographer

This year, I’ve joined 19 other fantastic photographers to do a year long journey–the Fifty Two on Friday.  You can see last week’s post here.

Ahh…bright colors.  I don’t shoot a lot of bright colors–I do a muted warm thing.  So I shot some red.  I drive a red mustang and Aidan had to have a matching one.  He uses it to pick up women–that is the little children who come to me for photos.  He likes to jump on it and ride around showing off, and will ask for a ride from a girl in a heartbeat.  One day, my matching mustang will be his…I can picture him sitting on the hood at 16 trying to flag down a pretty young lady to go joyriding with him.

And just for good measure, one more of my growing little boy.

Fifty Two on Friday: Fruit | Fayetteville NC Children Photographer

This year, I’ve joined 19 other fantastic photographers to do a year long journey–the Fifty Two on Friday.  You can see last week’s post here.

This week the theme is fruit.  Nothing tastes better in the North Carolina summer, especially when you are giant, hot and pregnant in the 110 degree heat, than a fresh ripe watermelon.  Just ask Aidan.

Fifty Two on Friday : Summer | Fayetteville NC Children Family Photographer

This year, I’ve joined 19 other fantastic photographers to do a year long journey–the Fifty Two on Friday.  You can see last week’s post here.

This week the theme is summer.  Again I had the idea of taking Aidan out to play in a sprinkler but he tends to take late evening naps (the better to stay up late with mommy, my dear) so I haven’t been able to.  We are going to the beach today though, so in honor of that–and as an incentive for me to get up early on Saturday for sunrise photos on the beach–here is a sunset in California.

I think maybe its pregnancy hormones, but I’ve been very sentimental lately. Its always just been me and Aidan at night. I’m going to miss that. I always imagined he’d be my only child–don’t get me wrong I’m excited about a new baby–but I am going to miss it being me and my baby boy. I am trying really hard to treasure every moment with him now that I can, if only he’d wake up from a nap so we could go make cookies and play the pecuter together.

This is the last Summer that Aidan will be my spoiled little only child, Mr. Prince.  My last summer that we spend the evenings just me and him, playing camping and peoples.  Of long 30 minute baths until his skin gets soggy.  Of falling asleep together watching television.  Of Saturday morning Disney cartoons in our pajamas.  Of sitting in my lap playing computer games.  Of sleeping with me in my bed so he won’t be alone.  Now, he’ll be a big brother, and I’ll be a busy mommy with 2 full time jobs and 2 babies to take care of, with so much less free time to be only his.

Sweet Little Ones | Stedman Clinton Fort Bragg Fayetteville NC Newborn Baby Photographer

My ultimate wish is to be able to offer my clients stunning images of their newborn babies that they can enjoy for a lifetime.  Newborns are only new for so few days, and I want their session to be everything they have hoped and dreamed of during their pregnancy.

Because of this love I have for new life, I traveled to San Diego last month and had the honor and pleasure of meeting Carrie and Brittney of Baby as Art. They have have inspired me so much in my journey as a newborn photographer, and continue to wow me with every image they produce.  I’m sure I was a quiet, shy, starstruck silly girl in their presence:  I felt like I was meeting a celebrity (and just days afterward, they had the awesome opportunity to actually photograph a real celebrity, Pink and her newborn baby girl, for People Magazine).  Carrie and Brittney were absolutely wonderful, so sweet and down to earth and willing to answer all questions and offer their knowledge and critique.  I had the best experience with them, and it was something I had dreamed of doing for years.  It was a dream come true for me.

And, I hope to bring back just a tiny ounce of their baby whispering ability and continue to grow with my own newborn work.

Thank you, to Carrie Sandoval and Brittney Woodall for sharing your passion, talent, and baby whispering skills.

Fifty Two on Friday : Free | Fayetteville Fort Bragg NC Newborn Photographer

This year, I’ve joined 19 other fantastic photographers to do a year long journey–the Fifty Two on Friday.  You can see last week’s post here.

This week, the theme is free.  I live in a military town and I get requested a flag shot for a lot of my  newborn photo sessions.  This little boy is the happiest little guy to be wrapped in our American Flag–the ultimate symbol of Freedom.  Thanks to his daddy, we are free.

Now zip on over to Sara Tegman-St. Louis, Missouri Photographer to see her take on Free!
