Baby Cecelia| Fayetteville NC Newborn Baby Photographer

Gorgeous Baby Cece, one of the very few girls I have photographed this year.  It is definitely the year of the boys!

Fifty-Two on Friday : Whimsical | Fayetteville Stedman NC Newborn Baby Photographer

This year, I’ve joined 19 other fantastic photographers to do a year long journey–the Fifty Two on Friday.  You can see last week’s post here.

This week, the theme is whimsical-which means spontaneously fanciful or playful.  I had the hardest time thinking of something to photograph this week, but then I remembered our trip to San Diego last week, and the shows at Sea World.  Back in the days, before that Orca attacked the trainer, the trainers at Sea World would get in the water and ride the backs of the dolphins, and do tricks.  It was the best part of the park!  I was disappointed this year, though, to find out they do not do that anymore.  The trainers did a few things with the dolphins, but didn’t get in the water with the Orcas at all.  I was so sad.  Instead, its like watching Cirque du Soleil, water style.  How much more whimsical can you get with a woman dressed as a giant macaw, flying on a wire, men in spandex with weird feathers, and it all revolving around some silly story involving a girl at a window and horrible music and dolphins jumping around?  I didn’t get it.

Hello from California! | Fayetteville NC Children Newborn Baby Photographer

Last week I had the most amazing vacation in San Diego, California!  It was my first visit to the west coast, in fact the farthest west I had ever been was Nashville, TN.  That’s sad isn’t it?

Josh and I packed Aidan up and headed on a 9 hour plane ride to San Diego!  Found out on the day I left that my gorgeous Mackenzie had lung cancer (turns out though, it was fluid and hopefully he’s going to be ok) which put a damper on the trip.  But otherwise, everything was fabulous.  Saturday we spent the day at Sea World.  Sunday, we drove to La Jolla and Carlsbad, where I shopped it up, we saw Pirates of the Caribbean in the IMAX theater (and Aidan slept through the whole thing, and wet the seat so whoever sat there next, so sorry!).  Aidan and Josh went to the zoo on Monday, and we all went to Legoland California on Tuesday!

This week the theme is Macro.  I LOVE macro photos of little newborn baby parts–especially those kissable baby lips!

52 on Friday : Water | Fayetteville NC Newborn Children Family Photographer

This year, I’ve joined 19 other fantastic photographers to do a year long journey–the Fifty Two on Friday.  You can see last week’s post here.

This week, the theme is water.  I spent a fabulous weekend in Tennessee with a slew of other photographers in October of last year, and I finally got to take one of the shots I’ve always wanted too–a waterfall shot.  Of course this is just a teeny tiny waterfall, but I still think its so peaceful.

Now head on over to Sara Tegman-St. Louis, Missouri Photographer to see her take on  Water!
