Kaleb | Stedman Fayetteville NC Baby Photographer

My baby brother became a daddy nearly a year ago, to yet another beautiful baby boy in my family (I am blessed with a load of gorgeous nephews, no nieces).  Kaleb is the sweetest most perfect baby boy.  Happy birthday, from Aunt Carrie.

His birthday…

His first photo session with Aunt Carrie

And today, from a teeny tiny 5lb peanut, to a chunky monkey, with the biggest Huckleberry Blue eyes…

Emily | Stedman NC Fayetteville NC Newborn Baby Photographer

Little Emily was the sweetest little girl ever for my mentoring session–she made it easy for us.  And she has to be one of the most loved baby girls on earth, she’s such a lucky baby girl.

Fifty Two on Friday | Week 4 | Simple Fayetteville NC Children Photographer

This year, I’ve joined 19 other fantastic photographers to do a year long journey–the Fifty Two on Friday.  You can see last year’s post here.

This week, the theme was Simple.  I had the hardest time finding something “simple” to take a photo of.  I thought all week long about something that could be considered simple, and all I could think of was another simple picture of Aidan.  Instead, I will show you the sweet simple gesture that my husband made for me for Christmas.  This little present as simple as it is, means more to me than the things he bought me that cost money (except maybe my ipad, I do so love that haha!).  We have a little sign outside with our address on it, and my “girl” person was holding flowers.  Well I can’t garden, I can’t get a fake plant to stay alive for me.  So my sweet hubby took my girl from our address sign and made me a camera.  He welded it himself, painted it, and was just as proud as  a kid in shop class.  This simple gesture meant more to me than a monetary gift.

Now head on over to Kara Jo Photography | Memphis Tennessee Photographer to see her interpretation of Simple!

I Heart Faces | Innocent Wonder Fayetteville NC Children Photographer

I struggled with my second entry into the I Heart Faces challenge.  But I had so much fun last week I thought I’d do it again.  This week, Innocent Wonder.  This photo was taken of my sweet little {sick} boy on the Polar Express this year, in Bryson City, NC.  We surprised him with the visit, he had no idea what was in store until the train pulled up to the station.  “The polar express train!” was all you could hear him scream.  On the train, Santa Claus (THE Santa, yes!) walked to each child and gave them a present–a bell.  “Can you hear it ring Aidan?” we asked him.  “I hear it!  I hear it!”  For the rest of the train ride, he held his golden ticket in one hand and his ringing bell in the other.  There is nothing more sweet and innocent than the wonder of a child at Christmas time, when they believe.

Fifty Two On Friday : Week 3 – Joy | Stedman Fayetteville NC Children Baby Photographer

This week:  Joy.  There is nothing that brings me more joy than a lazy weekend morning with my son.  So often I find myself trying to squeeze in a few more hours of editing, when I should be squeezing in a few more hours of playing trains.  One day, in the not so distant future, I will have a son with a closed bedroom door.  His video games and music will take the place of toy trains and cars.  I won’t be his best friend anymore.  Until then, I will use every spare moment I can find to make sure that I am Emily the green train with a tender, or Sir Topham Hatt giving directions on where each engine has to go “sleep” at.  I will watch Thomas and pretend that I don’t cringe everytime they say “cross”.  I will spend my weekend morning on the floor being my little boy’s best friend, because that is where my joy is.  And nothing brings him more joy than when I play with him.
